It is with great pride that I select the best two pieces to donate 50% of the hammer price to the annual SCOOP Foundation Art Auction.

This year I have chosen my absolute favourite watercolour piece inspired by the Butterfly Nebula and one of the very first traditional print pieces I made using the ancient craft of Bavarian Limestone Lithography.

The Arklow Library hosted a group exhibition of works by Arklow Visual Arts Members from 1st March 2022 – 5th March 2022. This was an exciting exhibition and a first in many collaborations between the Arklow Visual Arts and the Arklow Library.

Digitising your artwork helps clear your mind and studio of clutter, aids in keeping up to date with stock-taking in the studio and is a huge asset when selling work, applying for grants, submitting to open calls and preparing for exhibitions.

In April 2021 I started a journey to become a Forest Bathing Guide with the eco-tourism training programme initiative set up by Eco Wellness Consulting and County Wicklow Partnership.

Forest Bathing is a process of relaxation to reduce stress and help reconnect with nature. Forest bathing was developed in Japan as a national health programme. The simple method of being calm and present amongst the trees, observing nature around you, with all your senses, whilst breathing deeply has been proven to help boost health and wellbeing in a natural way (no swimsuit or bathing in water required!). Forest Bathing comes under the umbrella of nature-based solutions for health and well-being. There is currently an international focus on the development of new green jobs in forest-based care for both the ecotourism and green care sectors.
