How many exhibitions have you organised/ curated/ managed/ facilitated/ invigilated?

  • Organised many exhibitions while in college notably Ballyrogan Expression a travelling, evolving group exhibition with a core family group me(print), Mum(paint), Dad(paint) & Robert(film) - we often invited artists to show with us as long as they had lived or created works while at Ballyrogan.

  • 2012 - 2017 The Copper House Gallery

    • Here I worked my way up from volunteer to Curator and management - organising over 67  international exhibitions on a busy schedule. View the full list here https://www.thecopperhousegallery.com/exhibitions/archive/

    • What was very unique about this time was that we (The Copper House) created most of the works displayed - scanning/ printing/ framing

    • Some of the exhibitions I worked on:

      • 2013 The Art of Superstition, an exhibition of Irish illustration

      • 2013 Now's the Time, an exhibition of prints based on mixed media work by artist Brian Gormley

      • 2014 DIY, a photographic exhibition, by SHOWCASE 2012 winner Richard Gilligan

      • 2014 Slackwater, a photographic exhibition by 2013 Propeller Award winner Maciej Pestka

      • PHOTOIRELAND FESTIVAL 2014

      • 2014 Out of Thin Air, a photographic exhibition and photobook by Daragh Muldowney

      • 2014  All You Need is Love, a print exhibition in support of Marriage Equality, presented by No Fixed Abode

      •  2014 INDIA 50 / -- , a photographic exhibition by Mexican visual artist Alejandro Gómez de Tuddo

      • 2016  Blank Verse, Youngdon Jung | PhotoIreland Festival

I relocated to Co. Wicklow to start a family and am currently a senior gallery assistant with The Arklow Visual Arts Gallery. Covid hit the gallery hard and they had to let go of their brick-and-mortar location on the main street. I have been working very hard to maintain an arts community in the area and am working with the local chamber of commerce to secure a new location for art in the community.

My proudest achievement with The AVA was to get them fully functioning online with a website and social media and to move most of the paperwork to digital - allowing us to continue working remotely and host online exhibitions during lock-down. https://www.arklowvisualarts.com/

I’ve also organised a collaboration with Arklow Library so that the members of the AVA can continue to exhibit their works until something more permanent becomes available.
